Schedule & Details: Vienna, May 29, 2010
The Commandery of Austria-Germany, “Leopold II”, under its Commander H.E. The Chevalier Wolfgang Steinhardt GCJ, will be holding its first Ceremony of Investiture, in Vienna, Austria on May 29, 2010. Named “A Festival of Friendship” the ceremony will be held at the magnificent St. Salvator Chapel, built in 1301. The St. Salvator Chapel is in the historic centre of Vienna and is the seat of the Old Catholic Church.
Supported by the CSLI – the Corps Saint Lazare International – the event will also welcome as guests the many of Vienna’s other Orders of Chivalry, military groups, officers and associations. Vienna’s colourful elite will come out to witness this important event in the life of our Illustrious Order.
The Commandery and its Commander have created a full program of events for our members. The Ceremony of Investiture and Installation takes place on Saturday, May 29th with the entrance of the banner of the Order together with the flags of all other groups in attendance. The ceremony for the appointment of officers and investiture of members begins at 3:00 pm. The ceremony will be in both English and German. Following the close of the ceremonies the members and guests will proceed to the pre-dinner reception. The pre-dinner reception is generously being sponsored by the CSLI so it can be offered without cost to our members and guests. The Gala Dinner will be held in the Barock Saal of the Altes Rathaus, the historic Vienna Old City Hall built in 1298.
